I completed my Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering & Computer Science am
now working as a Systems Engineer at Tyco. Manipal's ICAS program was a wonderful
experience for us, there are a lot of things we learnt besides Engineering. Coming
from different backgrounds, studying at different colleges in the US and following
different career paths, still Manipal is the common uniting factor. Most of us have
graduated with flying colours and are now working in different places including
Tyco, National Instruments, Sprint, Dell, Citibank, Deliotte & Touche. more... ICAS as an institute provides ample platform for individual
growth of the student, thus making them culturally, physically and emotionally ready
for the tough life of a global university they have to eventually venture into.
On a personal note, I can safely say that the one year I spent in Manipal was indeed
the foundation of my career as an aerospace engineer of the future.
IN ICAS, there is no doubt that it is difficult to get good grades and maintain
them afterwards, but the staff and teachers of the university made it all attainable.
The wise advice and guidance of Mr. G.M.J Bhat and others made it possible for me
to make the right decision as far as my university selection is concerned. I was
accepted as a full time student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which is
a world leader in aerospace education. Unlike many other recent high school students
who join U.S universities right after schools in India, I found myself better equipped
to face the pressure and competition of a foreign university. I was the only international
student to get an Internship in just the eight months after transferring to Embry-Riddle
and I am currently a student employee of Delta Airlines Inc. based at Atlanta, Georgia,
as a Systems Engineer, with a permanent job offer for after graduation.
For success, hard work and determination is a must, and so is the platform. There
is no doubt that ICAS is the ideal platform for anyone who aspires to make it to
the top colleges of the world, and wants a stable platform for that launch, to make
the transition easier and fruitful. I whole heartily encourage all to make the right
decision by starting off a global and successful career at International Centre
of Applied Sciences , and top it all off with their determination to succeed and
desire to leave a mark for all to remember.

ICAS proved to be a great experience and I am sure for everybody else in my batch
too. It gave us the college life experience of India along with the rigour and breadth
of the American undergraduate education. It serves as a great platform for students
who want to pursue their studies in a particular field without having to worry about
paying for 4 years of undergraduate studies abroad, as it cuts the time spent abroad
by half. Along with giving students the professional help needed to prepare for
studies abroad, Manipal backs us up by providing a strong network of alumni and
friends. Since all the students in a particular batch are applying abroad, one also
ends up having a strong support group of friends who might end up in the same colleges
as you, thus making one's transition from India to abroad a lot less painful. I
think, ICAS program opens up new frontiers and possibilities for students from all
over India. I owe a lot to Manipal and ICAS; I definitely wouldn't be where I am
today without the twinning program.

ICAS... I can honestly say that when I joined this program, I had no idea what I
was getting into. Like most of you reading this, all I knew was, that it included
a 2+2 programme, whereby you ended up studying abroad. However, the 2 years I spent
at Manipal University as part of the ICAS programme were extremely memorable. This
little town on the western coast has a lot more to offer than it seems. I learned
a lot in my two years at Manipal. more...
With the help and guidance
of my professors, my friends and the support system at this university, I became
a much more confident and independent person. From captaining the football team,
to being the chief editor of the inaugural ICAS magazine/yearbook, i feel I achieved
a lot within such a short time. Today, I am studying at the University of Utah in
Salt Lake City, and I absolutely love it. I have taken on multiple responsibilities
here including being elected as part of the student council in a university that
is 27,000 people strong. I have my own radio show, and I am also the Developmental
Director at the university radio station. 4 years ago when I graduated high school
I would have never thought I could do any of this, but I can honestly say ICAS had
a huge part to play. Dr. Bhat was a very influential guide, who always had an open
door to hear your problems, and always tried to help you in any which way he could.
I appreciate everything ICAS did for me, and apart from it being one of the best
programmes in the country, I believe the best part about it is the group of people
that run it. They have done an absolutely amazing job in the short time ICAS has
existed, and taken it to where it is today. The stats speak for themselves, with
kids getting into the University of Illinois, University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins
etc. I loved my two years in Manipal, and the memories will last forever.

Twinning program has benefited me both financially and academically to meet the
university of my choice. Education pattern offered by ICAS is in accordance with
the accredited US Schools, which allows a prospective student to transition smoothly
into the US Educational System. I graduated with B.S. in Computer Engineering from
the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, which ranks among top 5 US Schools. Currently,
I am working as an IT engineer in TIAA-CREF.

"I've successfully completed Bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology

Manipal had played a transformational role in my life. Apart from the best education
offered anywhere in India, I had enjoyed every single day of my two years spent
at Manipal. It is a privilege to be able to support Manipal University. It was the
first place where I was introduced to new ideas, technology and breakthrough opportunities.
I remember like yesterday, when I finished my high school (grade 12th) and wasn’t
sure about my career path. I had desired to go out of my small home town and wanted
to have an exposure at a global level. When then I came across ICAS program in Manipal,
which led me to enormous possibilities to pursue my career. As soon as I set my
foot on campus, my life continued to shape for who I am today. I’m currently supporting
Global Ecommerce in one of the largest retail industries in the world. All that
was taught in ICAS was not only relevant to national boundaries but screeched out
to international educational standards. I support Manipal/ICAS in gratefulness for
the knowledge and experience it gave me and also wishes the improved experience
to future generations of ICAS students. Only at ICAS one can experience the maturity
of considering the worldwide globe as their home."
